The Key that Unlocks Every Door.

Intercessory Prayer

Intercessory Prayer is one of the most vital roles that Christians are called to fulfill. Some people mistakenly think it’s exclusively done by intercessors within the church. But the scripture says in 1 Timothy 2:1, I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men. The words, “I exhort, therefore, that first of all,” is a key point. The beginning portion of this scripture doesn’t address a specific group of people. Instead, it is directed to all members of the Body of Christ. God is telling all of us that we must push back the forces of darkness preventing others from being saved. Everyone in the Body of Christ must help save others from a life of destruction and chaos.

In 1 Timothy 2:4, it gives the heartbeat of God, by saying, Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth. How will all the people on the planet be saved? It will be through our prayers and intercession that break the chains of darkness on their hearts and minds, blinding them from accepting Christ as their Lord and Savior. (2 Corinthians 4:4): In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them. It’s going to take all of us, the entire Body to do it.

How can we effectively pray for others through intercessory prayer? Ephesians 6:18 gives the way to do it. It says, Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance.” It will require the infilling of the Spirit that was poured out on the day of Pentecost and is still available to those who have accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior. As you speak in tongues earnestly and fervently, in the Spirit, the Holy Ghost will join you in intercession. Romans 8:26-27 states, “Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. 27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”

The Holy Spirit knows exactly what to pray for because He receives the answers from God and prays God’s will through you on your behalf. That’s why it’s crucial to receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit so that your inner helper can assist you during times of prayer and intercession. The Holy Spirit is the hidden helper, who is always ready to help.

If you haven’t received salvation and you would like to intercede for others, let’s begin by getting you saved first. Simply repeat this prayer of salvation and mean it from your heart, and God will save you:

Heavenly Father, I have sinned. Please wash and cleanse me from all the wrongs that I have done. I confess that Jesus is Lord. I make him Lord of my life from this day forward and will follow his Lordship. I believe that God raised him from the dead. I receive remission of sins for my soul. I receive eternal life into my spirit. I am born again. Hallelujah!

Now, if you want to receive the infilling of the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in other tongues, and you have already received salvation, you can repeat this prayer to be filled with the Holy Ghost:

Heavenly Father, I desire to be filled with the infilling of the Holy Ghost. I receive this infilling right now from the crown of my head to the soles of my feet. Be Filled in Jesus’ Name. Now, speak in tongues as the Holy Spirit gives you utterance!!!

(Acts 2:1-4): And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
